Ujima is not theory — it is practice.
It is collective lifting.
It is shared accountability.
It is “not without my people.”
As I now understand my role with clarity. I accept and understand my assignment.
I have been called to teach what was never taught — to guide our seasoned citizens, and others who are interested into the world of technology with dignity, patience, humor, and cultural pride.
This is not just a class. It is restoration. It is repair. It is reclamation of agency.
It is honoring our ancestors by preparing our elders.
And — to answer the question plainly:
What happened to us?
Why are we behind in technology?
Because we didn’t choose technology.
But now, with Ujima as our guide, we choose each other.
And together, we rise.
